I was born and raised in Calgary. Growing up, I had the good fortune to participate in various recreational activities, including equine pursuits (three-day eventing, and later focusing on dressage), and downhill skiing. When it was time for me to select a career path, as for many people who grew up in the city, the oil and gas sector beckoned. I pursued my undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business, obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Petroleum Land Management. From 2006 until my admission as a law student in 2013, I worked as a negotiator at a major Canadian oil and gas company. My tenure in the energy sector gave me valuable experience drafting contracts and working with stakeholders to negotiate agreements across a spectrum of transactions in terms of size, complexity and asset value. During my time in the oilpatch, I worked on deals ranging from single-wellbore agreements to dispositions with transaction values up to $0.5BN.

Sometime after I became responsible for financing my own recreation, I came to the conclusion that I ought to pursue activities that would not cost me money while I was sleeping. I bid the horses farewell and discovered mountain biking. Recreating in the mountains became a major part of my life, and like so many before me, I made what was initially planned as a six-month move to the Bow Valley in 2009. Following a stint commuting to the city for work, I decided to leave the city lights behind, personally and professionally. I was accepted to the University of Calgary Faculty of Law and graduated in 2016. Upon graduation, I articled in Canmore, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2017. Though I originally came here for the recreation, the allure of small town living and the warmth of this community solidified my decision to put down roots in the Bow Valley.

I am pleased to serve the local community’s legal needs and consider myself very fortunate to live and work in such a vibrant and picturesque setting.

My community involvement includes:
  • Banff Canmore Foundation: Board member and Impact Investment Committee member
  • Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association: Past board member and volunteer

I have been blessed enough to call Canmore “home” for over 30 years - when I moved to Canmore in 1994, there was only 1 traffic light!

I grew up on a farm in North Buxton, Ontario where my family still lives. After graduating from college in Toronto, I heard the mountains call and moved to Banff with the intention of staying for a (one) summer while I enjoyed the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies. I ended up staying a lot longer and worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years in various roles and locations – all of which taught me how to pursue my passion of helping people. I decided to make a career change and chose to work with a few other local lawyers before finding my true fit at Highline Law Office. My speciality lies in real estate – both in Alberta and BC. I understand that buying or selling a home can be one of life’s biggest decisions, and sometimes stressful! I enjoy helping people navigate the hurdles and facilitate the process to ensure a smooth journey.

In addition to working for Highline Law Office, I enjoy volunteering for several Canmore organizations and helping the community I love flourish. I can often be found in the back country on winter weekends snowshoeing. During the summer months, my leisure time can find me camping, boating, fishing or hiking some of the amazing trails in the area.

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, where I began my career in the culinary industry after graduating from the Culinary Arts Program at NAIT. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work abroad in Bermuda and Australia, where I developed a strong foundation in teamwork, adaptability, and delivering high-quality service.

In 2010, my wife Laurie and I made the move to Canmore, which we are proud to call home. Over the next decade, I built my career in the local hospitality industry, working in a variety of well-known establishments including Communitea Café, Bear Street Tavern, and the Canmore Community Daycare. These roles strengthened my ability to stay organized, work under pressure, and provide exceptional service in fast-paced environments.

After more than 20 years as a chef, I decided to pursue a new career path and returned to school to complete the Administrative Professional Certificate at Bow Valley College. I am excited to bring my diverse background and client-focused approach to my role as Office Administrator, where I support the team and help create a positive and efficient experience for clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two daughters, Ava and Lily. You can often find me mountain biking in the summer or staying active at Elevation Place during the winter months.

I grew up between Montréal and Whistler, British Columbia. As a ski racer, my weeks were divided between three days in the classroom and four days on snow. I am a firm believer in the “work hard, play hard” mindset.

Back in Montréal, I completed a two-year degree in Pure and Applied Sciences at Marianopolis College, then went on to study law at the Université of Montreal. My practice now focuses on corporate, commercial, and real estate law. I enjoy solving complex matters, and I am constantly striving to increase my interdisciplinarity between law, business, and technology to provide a service with practical and strategic depth.

Outside of law, I have spent much of my time teaching and on the water. I have worked as a private ski instructor in the Laurentians for several years, and during college I organized multi-day ski trips for about two hundred students each winter. On the sailing side, I built two summer camps from their early stages into the largest in their region, and I later coached with the Canadian junior national sailing team, where some of the athletes I worked with went on to compete and win at the world championship level.

I first came to Canmore on a cross-country road trip in the spring of 2025 to mark the end of law school. We stopped for some late-season skiing at Sunshine. After that first day on the mountain and an evening walking through town, I knew I wanted to stay. The next morning, I printed my CV at the Canmore Job Resource Centre and walked around town in pursuit of a summer position.

I have been working with Highline Law Office ever since, and I chose to pursue my articles here after seeing, day in and day out, the high standard this team sets to support their clients.

I spent my early years in the big city of Tokyo. When my family relocated to Malaysia, I attended the International School of Kuala Lumpur and learned how to communicate in English. I first came to Canada to study at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, majoring in Tourism Studies. Upon graduation, I moved to Toronto and worked in a travel agency, helping customers book airplane tickets, hotels, tours, and more. When my work permit expired, I travelled and lived in several different countries, working in hospitality until I decided that Canada was going to be my forever home. This time, however, I aspired to live in the mountains, where I could pursue a passion I had discovered in New Zealand: snowboarding.

I landed in Vancouver and took a Greyhound bus to Banff. There, I worked as a Front Desk Agent for five years and obtained permanent residency through the hotel’s sponsorship. Soon after, I transferred to the Accounting Department within the same hotel group, counting cash, running audits, paying taxes, and processing payroll. After some time, the travel bug returned, and I decided to start ticking places off my bucket list. I packed my backpack and left indefinitely, visiting fourteen countries on a journey I called my “First Retirement.”

When I returned to the Bow Valley in late 2018, I was seeking a career change and joined the firm’s Banff office, then known as Eric Harvie Professional Corporation. Working as a Legal Assistant for the first time, I learned a great deal about the legal industry. I then became a proud mother of two amazing children and took some time to focus on my family. I am excited to be working with Highline Law Office again and now work with both the Banff and Canmore teams.

Administration Assistant

I was born and raised in Macclesfield, England, and first came to Canmore during a Christmas visit. Since 2021, I have returned regularly, as my partner’s family has owned a home in the area since his childhood. Through these visits, I fell in love with Bow Valley’s natural beauty and strong sense of community.

After completing my BA (Hons) in Criminology and Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, I decided to make the move to Canmore and start the next chapter of my life here in the mountains.

I bring a background in customer service and administrative support, with experience in retail, hospitality, and office environments alongside my studies. These roles helped me develop an organised, approachable working style and a genuine enjoyment of working with people.

Outside of work, I enjoy creative pursuits such as writing, art, and design. During the COVID-19 period in the UK, I designed, made, and sold recycled bags, which allowed me to combine creativity with hands-on business experience. I also love walking in nature, have a soft spot for animals, and am a beginner skier enjoying learning my way around the slopes. While living in the UK, I enjoyed being involved in community and charity initiatives, I took part in several fundraising events supporting cancer research and local community causes.

I’m very happy to be part of the Highline Law Office team and look forward to supporting both clients and colleagues while continuing to build a life in the Canmore community.
